Contests & Awards Every Journalist Should Know About

Contests and awards offer journalists a great way to gain both recognition and some serious money. For instance, did you know that the National Press Club annually awards two $5,000 prizes (print & broadcast) for the year’s best travel reporting?

Or that the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) offers a $3,000 annual prize for excellence in reporting on the sciences?

Or how about Writer’s Digest, which offers cash prizes for everything from poetry to magazine feature articles?

To learn much more about these and other worthy competitions, please join us as the Sacramento Press Club Freelance Committee discusses some of the great contests and awards all writers and reporters should know about.
