Please join us on Tuesday July 8 as the Sacramento Press
Club Freelance Committee presents:
Networking for Journalists (And a
little summer celebration)
Journalists are not normally great at self-promotion.
But with our industry undergoing historic downsizing, personal networking and
marketing skills are becoming an essential tool in a journalist’s long-term
career toolbox. With that in mind, please join us at Vallejo’s on Tuesday July 8
as Monica Hart, a.k.a. “the Marketing Coach” shares insights on how to showcase
yourself and your work to the open market.
NOTE: As an added
bonus, we can practice what we learn over appetizers on the Vallejo’s patio,
compliments of the SPC. Please come on by and join in the fun.
* When: Tuesday, July 8 at 6:00
pm
* Where: Vallejo’s
Mexican Restaurant, 1100 O
Street in Sacramento
* This is a free event! Please RSVP to

Thursday, June 5th
The
Sacramento Press Club welcomes
Assembly Speaker Karen Bass
The new speaker of
the California Assembly takes over at a challenging time, with a major budget
shortfall and a state economy in jeopardy. She's also making history, as the
first African American woman to actively lead a legislative body in U.S.
history. This was her first visit to the Sacramento Press Club, and it
came just 10 days before the constitutional deadline for the budget to be sent
to the governor.
