Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Governor Schwarzenegger was our January luncheon guest to begin 2009. This year will easily be the most challenging of Schwarzenegger's tenure, with the state facing a $40 billion deficit and the faltering economy threatening to widen that gap even more. The Governor said Democrats and Republicans must agree to a budget fix that includes spending cuts and revenue increase because math is more powerful than ideology. He also commented on the ongoing battle with the state prison reciever, potential furloughing of state employees and the federal stimulus package.
