The 15th Annual California Journalism Awards

 

WHO: All California Journalists 
 
WHAT: The 15th Annual California Journalism Awards and Katharine M. Macdonald Award sponsored by the Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento and the Sacramento Press Club. 
 
The Awards were established in 1994 to recognize excellence in reporting on California state government and politics.  Awards will be given in two print divisions – daily coverage and enterprise reporting – as well as radio and television.  A cash prize of $500 will accompany each award.  Also, the Katharine M. Macdonald Award will be given to a student journalist and is accompanied by a $300 prize. 
 
WHEN: April 17, 2009 – Postmark deadline for submitting entries
            May 27, 2009 – Awards Luncheon, Sacramento 
 

Entries must be postmarked no later than April 17, 2009, and must have been published or broadcast in California between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008.  Judges will be distinguished active and retired journalists and academics.  The Awards will be presented at a luncheon in Sacramento on May 27, 2009.
