Air Resources Board Chairman Mary Nichols has spent her entire career focused on protecting our natural resources. One of the first environmental attorneys in the nation, Nichols is now tasked with implementing AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, California ’s historic first-in-the-nation attempt to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that many scientists believe are the main cause of global climate change. In her first visit to the Sacramento Press Club, Nichols discussed how this new era of “climate thinking” will shape California’s future .
