On Tuesday September 8th the Sacramento Press Club Freelance Committee presented: Social Journalism
Today's media marketplace requires journalists to report the news in creative ways, interact with readers and work in real time. Two leading government reporters, John Myers of KQED and Shane Goldmacher of the LA Times, shared how they use Twitter and other social media to connect with readers in meaningful ways.

About our speakers: John Myers, Sacramento Bureau Chief for KQED Radio, has spent more than 15 years as a reporter, anchor, and editor in both television and radio news. The Duke University and UC Berkeley graduate writes Capital Notes. Shane Goldmacher, a Sacramento Bureau reporter for the Los Angeles Times, previously worked for the Sacramento Bee and Capitol Weekly. The UC Berkeley graduate runs the online Capitol Alert web portal. |
