About the speakers: Phillip Reese specializes in data analysis and works on the projects and investigations team at The Sacramento Bee. His duties include writing and reporting stories, helping other reporters with large sets of data and creating online databases, maps and graphics. He's been with The Bee five years. Before that, he did the same job for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock. A graduate of NC State University, he started his career a decade ago as a cops reporter with the Greensboro (NC) News & Record. R.V. Scheide is the News Editor for the Sacramento News & Review. He has won numerous writing and editing awards during his 20-year career as a journalist. |
